Hard Drive Destroyer
The PD-4 physically destroys hard drives by bending, breaking, and mangling the hard drive and its internal components—including the data platters. Using a rugged stainless-steel crushing wedge, the PD-4 bends the data platters preventing the hard drive from “spinning up” or for the hard disk platters from being removed and placed on a spin stand used in laboratory data recovery techniques. The PD-4 also cracks the hard-drive housing, breaks the PC board, and smashes the read-write heads. Best for use after degaussing, the PD-4 ensures total hard drive destruction.
Listed on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List (EPL) for Hard Drive Bending Devises. Meets the toughest standards for bending hard drives containing U.S. government top-secret data, as well as all other government and industry standards for data destruction before disposal.
Independently tested and certified to meet CE standards for safety and compatibility.
Applies approximately 10,500 pounds of force to bend, break, and mangle hard drives—including data-storage platters—at the push of a button.
Destroys the first hard drive in just 20 seconds or less, meeting the NSA’s emergency-destruction guidelines. Continuous-duty operation requires no cool down between cycles.
Requires no adapters to destroy hard drives up to 4.5 inches (113 mm) wide by 6.3 inches (158.8 mm) deep by 2.8 inches (71.1 mm) high, including network SCSI and IDE drives. Allows you to specify voltage options when ordering for international locations.
Destroys up to six laptop drives, two standard hard drives, or one full-height hard drive during each destruction cycle.
Offers push-button operation and auto sensors that detect and adapt crushing to the drive height (up to 2.8 inches high), with no user input required.
Quiet enough to use in an office and about the size of a desktop computer, the PD-4 weighs just 73 lbs., uses no messy hydraulic fluid, and plugs into any standard wall outlet worldwide.
Because the PD-4 doesn’t rely on software, it destroys any working or nonworking laptop, desktop, or network hard drive.
The door lockout system eliminates worries about operator safety during disk destruction cycles.
Stainless steel crushing wedge resists chipping and cracking. Since its introduction in 2009, the PD-4 has proven to be extremely dependable worldwide.
Uses no hydraulics, eliminating concerns about messy hydraulic fluid spills and the need for a spill containment mat.
Simply open the door, insert the drive(s), and press the button. That’s all it takes to operate the PD-4.
Operates as a standalone unit, but also works as the ideal companion to the HD-2XT, HD-3XTL, and TS-1XT hard-drive degaussers as the last step in secure data destruction.
The PD-4 requires no hydraulic fluid to operate the durable stainless steel crushing wedge. You don’t need to worry about messy fluid spills or place the PD-4 on a spill-containment mat. Since its introduction in 2009, the PD-4 has proven to be extremely reliable worldwide.
The PD-4 will help you satisfy the most stringent government and industry standards, including:
Listed on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List (EPL) for Hard Drive Bending Devices, the PD-4 was laboratory tested to ensure disk destruction to the level required for the U.S. government classified top-secret data.
Independently tested and certified to meet CE standards for safety and compatibility.
